San Antonio Trip

This summer we went to San Antonio Texas to visit Sea World, Natural Bridge Caverns and the Mission San Jose. This was a wonderful vactions. We learned lots of interesting facts, got to see Elmo, Shamu, Kiss a Beluga Whale, ride roller coasters, get splashed by whales, see awesome shows, see wax figures, went to the Ripley's Believe it or not museum and rode a boat for the riverwalk tour. We had a great view of the Almo from our Hotel window and we even got work up at 2:30 in the morning with the fire alarms going off. We all evacuated to the stairway, which was outside, and had to walk down two flights of stairs in the cold rain till we found out it was a false alarm. (Just for your info... our room was on the 12th floor) Here are some pictures of our exciting and fun vacation. Enjoy!! Here Hollis is walking down the slippery wet stairs inside the cavern. This was such a neat experience. The temp was 70 but because of the humidity it seemed like it was 90 degrees in this underground cavern.

Here are some beautiful formations that formed in the cave because of the water that soaked through the ground.

Here we are standing infront of another formation.

Here is the Alamo......

Hollis loves anything dealing with weapons that were used in the civil wars and any other battles...so of course he wanted a picture with the cannon.

This was in the Ripley's Believe it or not museum. This was a fun and neat place to visit. above and below is a picture with Phillip, Hollis and WInter standing next to the tallest man ever.

Winter not even 3 feet.

Of course Phillip had to get a picture with Dr. Phil...

Hollis with the Terminator...I'll Be Back!!! LOL!!!

Here was Winter's first ride....The Merry Go round...she loved it!!

Winter really did like the show I just couldn't get her to smile!!!

Phillip, Hollis and The count!!!

The family with The Cookie Monster!!!

This was such an awesome show, as Winter would say, with the Beluga Whales and the divers. After the show we got to go backstage and get a kiss from the Beluga whales.

Here is a picture of a baby Beluga whale. Did you know the the baby beluga whales are gray then when they become an adult they turn white. Also did you know when a baby Beluga whale is born it's 5ft tall and weighs about 120 to 125pds.

Of course we had to ride on some water rides....The water was freezing, but not as cold as the water we were drinched with from the whales.

Here is Phillip and Hollis on a water ride.....

This was Winter's favorite part, watching Elmo. At one point Elmo walked down the cat walk and reached down and touched Winter's hand. That was the best thing that ever happened to her. She looked at me and showed me her hand and said "Elmo touched my hand" She said this several times that night. What a sweet memory I will have of that moment.

Here's Elmo going down the catwalk about to touch Winter's hand...

We then went to a 3d movie of sesame street. Again another sweet memory occured during this movie...When cookie monster's cookies blew up into several pieces Winter was reaching out to get one. When she realized she could get it she looked at me with her lip curled up saying "I want a cookie"...What a fun time!!!!

Here are the whales...that splashed us...Winter would say "Awesome"... We decided to sit in the front rows since Hollis wanted to get splashed by the whales...man were we in for it. We were splashed the most with the freezeing salt water. But it was worth it when we saw the looks on the kids faces!!!!

This was a neat show too! The sea lions....

Last we went to the Mission San Jose..this was a neat place to see. I find these old buildings very interesting....

Here's Hollis with his Davy Crockett hat that we got at the Almo..Doesn't he look sooo cute!!!

Me and Winter standing down the path to a mill.

My sweet Hollis looking cute by a well.

Here is the family looking out a window of one of the mission's rooms. We really enjoyed this vacation. And if you are wondering where the other two boys are they are in Oklahoma having their own fun and adventures with family. Hopefully I will have some pictures of them to put on the blog of their summer trip. Love from the Stephens Family!!!!
